We always recommend soap, bath bombs and candles. 

Always consult with your physician on ingredients and products you use while pregnant. As a general rule avoid using Vitamin A and Alpha Hydroxy Acids (AHAs) like Salicylic Acid, Lactic Acid, and Glycolic Acid.

All our products are phthalate-free.

Yes, we are not aware of anyone who is unable to use our soaps and other products we make.  

Our soaps is incredibly mild and gentle. Most commercial soaps are detergent based, using lots of synthetic ingredients, and that's what usually causes skin reactions.

We don't use any artificial colorants, hardeners, latherers or preservatives.

If you have allergies to fragrance, then we suggest you either select scents derived from 100% natural 'Essential Oils' or an unscented soap. We make about 10 soaps using essential oils, and also make several unscented soap.

We do offer a nice selection of soaps and lotions for acne prone skin. Please go to sensitive skin on menu

Begin with our unscented soaps to test for sensitivities. If successful, consider trying our natural essential oil scented options. Gradually introduce fragrance oil soaps.  We use very high end, quality fragrance oils.  Even if you have had problem with fragrance oils in other peoples products, you should be able to use our wonderful quality fragrances.

We recommend and know you will absolutely love our Spa Soap bars and the Rejuvenation lotion line.

Means the bomb will not dissolve right away.  These bombs take on average 5-8 minutes to dissolve.  Letting you enjoy the sensation longer.

Store soap in open air, Avoid storing in plastic bags, soap needs to breathe. Store on well drained soap dish.  Avoid sitting in pools of water, which can cause it to soften and dissolve faster. To ensure your soap stays fresh and effective, it's essential to store it properly and use it regularly. Rotate between multiple bars of soap if you have a variety of scents to prevent them from becoming stale or losing their fragrance.

Bath bombs can be stored in a basket or glass jar with lid.  We recommend you use your Bomb within 3 months of purchase.

Shower Steamers need to be stored in an airtight container. They are made with essential oils that will dissipate if left in the open air.  We recommend using with in 4 weeks of purchase

Our soaps are 3" tall, 2"wide and 1 1/2" deep.
When it comes to handcrafted soap, this is a unique size that sets Midnight Oil apart from the rest.

One of the key advantages of this unique size is its longevity. Unlike the shape that other soap maker use. Our special size is designed to last longer. As the soap gradually gets smaller, you will still have a luxurious lather right to the end! Treat yourself to the luxurious lather and long-lasting quality that only this unique size can provide.

SOAPS last 4-6 weeks. To extend your soap life, store in dry place after using.
SHOWER STEAMERS are good for one use. Best used in 4 weeks.

BATH BOMBS are good for one use. Best used in 3 months.

If you notice the scent of your soap fading, try using it as soon as possible to enjoy the fragrance. Handmade soap typically has a shelf life of up to 50 years but as time passes the scent will fade so it's best to use your soaps as soon as possible. The scent will brighten up when you get it wet.  I found a 20 yr old bar in a dresser, the scent was very slight.  But when I used it, the fragrance came back.

Absolutely! By cutting bars it may make it easier to use, you can share with friends, or us as a small hand washing soap, plus, you can switch scents sooner!

Most of our bath bombs will leave a sediment ring that is easily washed off.  The brightly colored bombs sometimes, leave a ring that needs to be scrubbed off. But staining the tub is rare.

Simply drop bath bomb into your tub, When it is about halfway full, drop the bomb in under the running water to activate the foaming agents. Continue to swish and swirl the bath bomb throughout your tub until completely dissolved.

Yes, of course. But we recommend trying our solid shampoo bars.

We use organic and/or USDA certified organic ingredients when they are available and best suited for a product. There are some ingredients for which there are no suitable natural alternatives. We choose the safest, most natural version of all ingredients.

Midnight Oil Soap Company has never, and will never, conduct animal testing. In addition our products do not contain any ingredients obtained harmfully to animals.

Yes, Midnight Oil Soap Company uses eco-friendly materials for our product containers. We use glass, plastic, and post-consumer cardboard for our different packaging needs. All resins used in our line are FDA grade. Our containers are in the #2 and #7 category and are accepted at recycling centers. We don't use any plastics that contain Bisphenol A, or any other ingredients known to be a hormone disruptor, nor do we use any materials known to have links to carcinogens.

Our unscented products do not contain any additional essential oils to change the product's naturally occurring aroma.

Our palm oil comes from sustainably harvested palm farms in Malaysia, the Philippines, or Germany.

Superfatting a soap means that the amount of lye used has been reduced, so that there is extra oil that is not turned into soap. These extra oils are then available for your skin to make use of, in addition to the glycerine for their moisturizing properties. Midnight Oil Soaps contain a lot of extra oils that act as lotion - often called saponifiables - and this is one of the reasons that Midnight OIl Soap feels so wonderful on your skin.

Occasionally, you may see some white stuff on top of our soaps. This is called 'soda ash' and is a harmless substance that forms when air reaches a batch of soap in its first 24 hours of life..

Absolutely. All of our ingredients are 100% safe topically for the skin, SLSa is derived from palm trees and helps to create the bubbles and soften the bath water.

We have a small, happy herd of 7 goats that we gently milk daily. They live on several pastures. We them about every couple weeks, so they can enjoy fresh delicious grass.

Winter months, they eat alfalfa, grains and fall leaves (I bag up in the fall).

Each doe gets a 2 yr break from milking.

Kim loves supporting new soap makers and giving advice.  But at this time she is not teaching classes.  She is currently interested in creating a few online courses....but this is a work in progress!
